South Reading Farm

Additions and renovations to this 19th century farm improved the arrival and entry sequence and transformed the casual living spaces.  A new horse barn, that incorporates an antique timber frame, was set to shape a farmyard entrance court.  A new elegant and comfortable entry and stair create a welcome transition to the living level.  The renovated family room has been enlarged and reoriented towards a new stone terrace, with views of a meadow and the mountains beyond.  The selection of materials and the architectural detailing complement the existing house.
