Sustainability

We believe that sustainable architecture is properly achieved through an integrated approach to design that balances many different factors when working towards conservation of natural and financial resources and the limitation of carbon emissions. There is much more to sustainable design than installing roof top photoelectric panels or researching tax credits. From the beginning of a project, we engage our clients, consultants and contractors in a process of discussion and education that sets goals and identifies affordable strategies that will allow us to minimize the environmental footprint of our projects. We approach each project individually so that we can understand how best to utilize available technologies, exploit the characteristics of the site, develop a structure that conserves as much energy as possible, and design a beautiful building that includes durable, low maintenance materials that sustain healthy indoor environments. We are committed to a holistic design process that promotes good design and responsible stewardship of our environment.
