Chroma

Moving from the constraints of an old cotton mill, this new production facility for an employee owned optical filter manufacturer was designed to improve manufacturing and working conditions and project a sophisticated image for the company. Working closely with the staff, the organization of the building was developed to facilitate the production flow. Energy efficient building construction, mechanical systems and electrical fixtures were chosen to reduce operating costs. Windows and skylights connect the interior work spaces to the wooded site located above the Connecticut River. Strong color accents building elements to bring the interiors to life while timber framed porches suggest the rural character of Vermont.
