Timber-Frame Renovation
A family of five loved their neighborhood but had outgrown their timber-framed home. The renovations and additions created light-filled, casually elegant living spaces that work for any occasion, from homework to entertaining. A new second floor and exterior trim transformed the character of the house. The house is clearly organized into public and private areas. The children share the second floor, the parents have a private bedroom suite on the first floor and the lower level is used as a playroom and for guests. The awkward siting of the original house was improved through new landscape steps and a new entry porch.
