Wheeler House
The historic Wheeler House located on the famous Orford Ridge was badly neglected and water damaged. The renovation restored the finishes and reimagined rooms to be sympathetic to the elegant Federal character of the house while working well for modern family life, balancing formal and casual spaces. The existing kitchen was renovated to create a large country kitchen focused on an Aga range with a copper range hood. All the bathrooms were renovated. The primary bathroom is focused on a freestanding tub in front of the fireplace. The house’s insulation, lighting and systems were updated so that this historic house can function well in the 21st-century.
